I have returned to McMurdo Station, Antarctica for a third season in the carpenter shop, or carp shop, as it is known here. My season started in mid August and goes till mid winter. The weather on arrival was somewhere 30 below with a 45 to 50 below wind chill. It gets up to a very comfortable 38 degrees in Dec. & Jan. There are over a thousand people working and living here supporting the United States National Science Foundation program.
